Business Problem: The customer needed a deeper understanding of the total costs associated with their hiring process and the potential savings that could be achieved by reducing interview volume. Traditional cost-per-hire metrics were limited to TA-specific costs, missing the broader impact on organizational time and resources. The customer wanted insights to optimize their interview process, reduce unnecessary interviews, and make smarter use of both HR and departmental resources.
How This Dashboard Helps: This custom dashboard goes beyond conventional cost-per-hire analysis by focusing on both direct and indirect costs of hiring across the entire organization. It calculates the total cost of hire based on the number of filled roles, average candidates interviewed per fill, recruiter hourly wages, and total interview hours. Additionally, it simulates cost savings by adjusting the number of candidates interviewed, showing potential reductions in both total interview hours and financial costs if fewer candidates are screened.
The dashboard also provides a departmental breakdown, detailing potential cost savings and total interview hours saved by reducing candidate volumes within specific teams. This allows leaders to see exactly where interview inefficiencies are occurring across departments like Hardware, Product, Operations, and Finance. By quantifying these savings, it helps HR and department heads make data-driven decisions on how to streamline the hiring process without compromising quality.
Impact: With this dashboard, the customer is empowered to prioritize time savings as part of their broader talent acquisition strategy. The insights from this tool enable them to optimize interview stages, saving valuable hours for both recruiters and hiring managers, and reducing the total cost of hire across the business. By refining their interview approach, the customer can focus resources on higher-quality candidates, speed up time-to-hire, and align their recruitment efforts with organizational efficiency goals. These efficiency improvements resonate with executives focused on cost management and workforce productivity, positioning HR as a strategic partner in achieving the company’s broader financial objectives.
