Recruit Product Updates: August 24 to September 21, 2026
New features, fixes and improvements shipped over the past four weeks.
New: Configurable data exports
You can now build your own scheduled data exports from Settings > Data Exports.
- Choose which candidate, application, job and onboarding fields to include, with sensitive fields clearly marked so you know what you are sending before you send it.
- Deliver exports by SFTP or by email, on a schedule or on demand for a single candidate.
- Repeatable form sections (for example, multiple employment history entries) now export correctly instead of only the last entry surviving.
- The field picker distinguishes between fields with the same label on different pages, so you can select the right one.
- Custom application form and onboarding fields are available in the export field catalogue alongside standard fields.
You can now create your own flags (for example, "Priority", "Internal transfer", "Needs visa sponsorship") in Settings and display them on candidate cards throughout the pipeline board.
New: HR system integrations- Recruit now integrates with Cascade HR (IRIS). Hired candidate data can be sent through automatically.
- Recruit now integrates with HiBob. Hired candidates can be pushed to HiBob on hire.
We ran a focused reliability review of the Events and interview scheduling system and fixed a large number of issues, including:
- Interview events can now be published (previously some events had no way out of Draft status).
- You can add multiple slot-based events to a single pipeline stage without candidates being auto-invited to all of them.
- Deleting or cancelling calendar availability and static events is now available from the events list.
- Recruiters can select "Select all" when inviting candidates to an event.
- Real interview bookings now attach a calendar file (.ics) to the confirmation, matching ad-hoc interviews.
- Interviewers using a connected calendar no longer receive a duplicate, unbranded invite alongside the branded one.
- Fixed cases where the interviewer pool ("Required Attendees") was ignored when sending invites, which could block invites from going out even though interviewers were assigned.
- Fixed a timezone bug where the recruiter's slot-picking calendar ignored the event's configured timezone, and added explicit handling for daylight-saving changes.
- A broken calendar connection now triggers a reconnect notification instead of failing silently.
- Cancelling an interview now actually cancels it with the candidate, and cancels any emails that were still scheduled to send.
- Double-booking the same interviewer into two overlapping slots is now blocked.
- Candidates can no longer submit two concurrent bookings against the same invite.
- The candidate confirmation page now shows the meeting/join link for online interviews.
- Booking a candidate into a stale slot list now shows a clear "slot not found" message instead of a generic error.
- Google Calendar availability checks were failing outright because of a missing permission scope; this is fixed.
- Interview Booking Reminder no longer sends after all slots have been taken.
- The interview feedback form now only appears on pipeline stages that actually have a feedback template assigned.
- Communication Templates has been restructured into four tabs with clearer categories and tooltips.
- Email and SMS automation workflows shipped, including outbound SMS provider integration.
- You can now set a default template per automated email category, and select custom templates directly from the Reminders/Automations page.
- Per-stage rejection email templates are now supported, with your job-level template used as a fallback.
- Applied-stage acknowledgement and submission emails are now client-configurable and support resumable, auto-saving application links.
- Email template previews now open in a larger modal with full formatting fidelity, instead of a cramped preview pane.
- Attachments (including PowerPoint files) can now be added to automated emails and event scheduling emails.
- Fixed a broad set of merge-field bugs across email categories: ad-hoc emails, consent expiry emails, rejection/offer/acknowledgement emails, approval notifications, and onboarding emails were all rendering merge fields blank or omitting tokens in various places. These now resolve correctly.
- Interview invite, cancellation and reschedule emails now go through the template and merge-field system consistently, rather than bypassing it.
- Fixed interview invite emails being silently dropped (and marked as sent) for candidates who had unsubscribed.
- Raw HTML email templates now accept valid HTML5 instead of rejecting it, and validation errors now say what is wrong.
- Email templates can no longer be saved with merge tokens their category cannot supply; unresolved tokens are flagged instead of silently deleted.
- Fixed cases where approval-rejected email notifications could silently fail to reach the hiring manager who raised the job.
- Fixed hiring manager invite emails being marked as sent internally without actually being delivered.
- New application notification emails now show readable job and application references instead of raw internal IDs.
- Repeatable groups (for example, multiple employment history entries) can now have minimum and maximum entry limits set in the form builder.
- All field types are now available on every form surface (Basic Information, Justification, Onboarding), not just the main application form.
- Fixed conditional logic ("Show When" / "Required When") not evaluating correctly against per-row answers inside repeatable groups, including on multi-page forms.
- Fixed repeatable sections staying visible with no visible fields when every field inside them was conditionally hidden.
- Fixed duplicate field IDs in some form templates, which caused editing or deleting one question to affect every copy of it.
- Page-level "Show When" conditions are now supported on Settings application form templates.
- Fixed the reopened application form being read-only and single-page, with a squished confirmation message.
- Fixed a bug where extending a job's closing date after a candidate had started their application caused submission to fail with "job no longer available."
- Fixed resume/application links permanently showing "Link Expired" after a job's closing date was extended.
- CV upload on the public application form now parses into the form fields automatically.
- Application instructions now render through the correct rich-text pipeline instead of showing raw HTML.
- Referee fields can now be added directly in the application form editor with automatic mapping.
- Job Details forms now have version history with rollback.
- Fixed jobs never auto-transitioning to Closed when their closing date passed.
- Fixed Job Type and Job Time being stored in a single field, which could cause the wrong employment type to display and publish.
- Fixed draft autosave retrying a rejected save indefinitely and turning one validation error into a continuous popup.
- Fixed required-field validation messages not appearing on the job edit page, which left Save disabled with no explanation.
- Fixed job draft autosave silently losing data by writing certain fields to the wrong place.
- Fixed the Approval Justification view showing raw field IDs instead of question labels.
- The job approval page now shows full basic information at the top, with approval actions at the bottom.
- Approval chains now support targeted re-routing after a rejection.
- Fixed approvals-enabled job submission skipping validation, which allowed mandatory fields to save empty.
- Fixed switching job tabs showing stale candidate/pipeline data until a manual refresh.
- Fixed a job pipeline template save error ("Invalid advance-to stage") when applying a template with auto-advance configured.
- Pipeline templates can now have default sub-statuses configured in Settings.
- Deleting a pipeline stage that candidates have already passed through now shows a clear validation error instead of a generic failure.
- Fixed group admins seeing an empty Pipeline tab on a subsidiary's job despite a correct candidate count.
- Added a "Distance from Job" column to the pipeline page (Kanban and list views).
- Shortlisting overview has been redesigned with a column-based criteria layout in place of ranking dots.
- Blind shortlisting now correctly hides reviewer scores from other reviewers.
- You can now reverse a candidate rejection.
- UK Inclusion scheme indicators (Disability Confident, Armed Forces, Care Leaver) now display next to the candidate name on the candidate list and pipeline board.
- Recruiters can now replace a candidate's CV and cover letter directly.
- Reviewers can now be removed from a shortlisting stage.
- Fixed the candidate list occasionally showing the wrong pipeline stage for candidates with more than one active application.
- Fixed the References tab surfacing a reference from an earlier application instead of the current job's request.
- Added search and filter by tag, and search by legacy reference number, to the candidate list.
- Added a "Recent communications" section to the pipeline candidate review modal.
- Fixed candidate status not updating to "Shortlisted" after review.
- Fixed shortlisting and pipeline views occasionally showing a CV from a different application instead of the most recently uploaded one.
- Fixed cover letter documents (Word/PDF) not rendering inline during shortlisting review, unlike CVs.
- Added a delete option for candidate CVs, and a confirmation step to existing document delete actions.
- Fixed candidate document downloads returning the app's own 404 page instead of the file.
- Fixed line breaks being lost in offer letters and contracts.
- Fixed offer summary rounding hourly rate to the nearest whole pound, including in contract and offer-letter documents.
- Fixed the offer salary merge field resolving to nothing in some templates.
- You can now download the signed contract PDF directly from a candidate's Offer History panel.
- Offer setup now supports defaults for auto-start onboarding and onboarding template, so you no longer need to set both on every offer.
- Onboarding can now be started directly on a candidate, independent of job-level template assignment.
- Added sequential task mode to the onboarding template builder.
- Fixed onboarding email-trigger tasks never firing when unlocked via the candidate self-service portal.
- Fixed a bug where an onboarding conditional rule referencing a newly created field failed to save.
- Onboarding staff notifications can now be turned off.
- Added filters and search to the Onboarding hub candidates view.
- Introduced a shared, branded PDF style system used across offer, contract, onboarding and reference document exports, and fixed several documents (onboarding packs, reference forms, migrated application form downloads) that were rendering overlapping or unreadable text.
- Fixed careers page job advert formatting not matching the job creation editor for headings, blockquotes, code blocks and horizontal rules.
- Fixed duplicate location entries on the careers page location filter.
- The "All Locations" careers page filter now shows every configured location, not only ones with a live advert.
