 Release update: 14/07/2026

This update covers everything shipped to Hireroad Recruit between Friday 10 July and Tuesday 14 July 2026. The headline is the release of the completely redesigned events and interview scheduling system, now the standard experience for every user. Alongside it, native Indeed Apply support means candidates can apply without leaving Indeed, a new Salary Type option lets you advertise jobs without a salary range, and onboarding gains content and form tasks that internal users can complete.

What's new

A completely redesigned events and interview scheduling system

The events system has been rebuilt from the ground up, and with this release the redesigned experience replaces the legacy events interface for all users. The job's Events tab is now a single home for creating and managing interviews, with events grouped by pipeline stage and each shown with its status, format, location, and duration at a glance.

Three ways to schedule. Creating an event starts with a guided setup that asks what kind of event you need and which pipeline stage it belongs to. You can even create a new pipeline stage on the spot without leaving the flow.

  • Calendar availability -- Candidates book themselves into times drawn from your team's real calendar availability. Choose the hosts, set a weekly schedule, block out periods such as lunch, and set a minimum advance notice. Recruit then only offers candidates times when a host is genuinely free, based on their connected calendar.
  • Slot-based -- Define fixed time slots that candidates book from a public page. The team availability calendar overlays each interviewer's live calendar so you can see exactly who is free before publishing a slot, and you can click or drag across the grid to publish or remove many slots at once. Booked slots are protected, and interview breaks can be added so no slot is ever offered over them.
  • Static -- A scheduled interview at a fixed date and time with no self-booking, for when the time is already agreed. Static events can be cancelled in one step, with the option to automatically notify every invited candidate.

One email builder for every event. All event types share the same candidate email builder, with rich text editing, merge fields for candidate and job details, and the option to start from your saved email templates. For self-booking events, the builder ensures the candidate's scheduling link is always included before the event can be saved.

Self-scheduling designed for candidates. Candidates book through a simple public page with no login required. Times are shown in the candidate's own timezone with the option to change it, the week-by-week view shows how many slots each day has, and booking ends with a clear confirmation. If nothing is available, the page explains why and offers a contact route instead of leaving the candidate stuck.

More control for recruiters. Events can be marked private, so only administrators and the assigned interviewers can see them. Slot-based events support an interviewer pool with a designated primary interviewer, and hosts without a connected calendar are clearly flagged with a link to connect one.

Apply directly on Indeed

Candidates can now apply to your jobs without leaving Indeed. Applications submitted through Indeed Apply flow straight into Recruit, including the candidate's CV and their answers to screener questions. Job postings sent to Indeed now carry the details Indeed needs to enable this, and US jobs additionally support Indeed's EEO demographic questions. When a job closes or expires in Recruit, its posting is now automatically removed from Indeed as well.

Advertise with a Salary Type instead of a salary range

Jobs can now be advertised using a Salary Type, for example Competitive or Negotiable, instead of a fixed salary range. When a Salary Type is set the salary range becomes optional, the Salary Type is displayed on the careers page in place of the range, and it is passed through to external job boards. The available Salary Type options can be managed in settings.

Content and form tasks for internal users

Onboarding tasks assigned to internal users can now include content to read and forms to complete. The internal task builder has a new content and form mode, and internal assignees get a dedicated task page where their form responses are captured and saved. Content tasks also now support merge fields, so candidate and job details can be inserted automatically.

File uploads on justification fields

Approval justification forms can now include a file upload field. Supporting documents attached to a justification can be downloaded from the approval banner by the people reviewing the request, and the files are kept internal so they are never exposed to candidates or the public.

Send advert attachments with reference requests

When sending a reference form to a referee, you can now choose to include the advert's attachments, so referees receive the relevant documents alongside the request.

Improvements

Pipeline visibility

  • Candidate source on pipeline cards -- Candidate cards in the pipeline view now show where the candidate came from.
  • View disqualified candidates -- A new filter on the job pipeline page lets you see disqualified candidates without leaving the pipeline.

Date range filtering on reports

The pipeline and offers reports now support filtering by date range, so you can focus the numbers on a specific period.

Referee and reference form builder

Referee and reference form editors now support the standard form builder controls, including conditional visibility, multi-page forms, content blocks, and conditionally required fields.

Email template management

  • Email as a distinct template category -- Email templates now have their own category, and the send email dialog only offers templates of that type, so the list is no longer cluttered with unrelated templates.
  • Search and sorting on template lists -- Communication template and feedback form lists can now be searched and sorted alphabetically.
  • Independent scrolling in the template editor -- The template sidebar and the editor panel now scroll independently, making long templates easier to work with.

Clearer job setup

  • Attachments tooltip -- The Attachments field in job creation now has a tooltip explaining that uploaded documents are visible to candidates.
  • Full job wizard for draft approvals -- Submitting a drafted job for approval now opens the full job creation wizard instead of a cramped modal, so every detail can be reviewed before it goes to approvers.

User management

Deactivated users are now hidden from the default User Management list, with a filter available to show them when needed.

Branded error pages

Reaching a missing page or hitting an unexpected error now shows a branded, friendly error screen instead of a blank page.

Security and reliability hardening

  • Reference forms -- Referee-facing endpoints are now protected by a server-side capability gate, and the data shared with referees has been minimised to only what they need to see.
  • Job editing during approvals -- Edits to jobs and their content now pass through a transactional guard, closing a window where concurrent changes could slip past the edit lock while a job was awaiting approval.
Bug fixes

Jobs and approvals

  • First "Next" click ignored in the job wizard -- On tenants without approvals enabled, the first click of "Next" on the Job Details step no longer does nothing.
  • Approval screen hid key details -- Vacancy details, including salary, now appear above the approval actions so approvers can see what they are approving without scrolling.
  • Candidates could not be assigned to jobs created from a template -- Jobs created from a template now get their pipeline stages seeded correctly, and any assignment error is surfaced with a clear message instead of failing silently.

Candidates and applications

  • Reopened forms did not allow CV replacement -- When an application form is reopened for a candidate, the form now renders read-only with the option to replace the CV, and the replacement is saved correctly.
  • Redacted CVs showed a raw candidate ID -- The header on redacted CVs now shows the application reference instead of an internal candidate ID, and existing redacted CVs have been updated to match.
  • Rows only opened via the link -- Candidate rows on the Jobs and Onboarding pages are now clickable across the whole row, not just the name link.

Video interviewing

  • Video interview email templates -- You can now choose the email template used for video interview invite and reminder notifications, and the email section no longer renders at a constrained width.

Application forms

  • Yes/no conditional rules -- Conditional visibility rules that compare against a yes or no answer no longer lose their value type, so these rules now save and evaluate correctly.
