Adding a candidate manually
Useful for candidates you've sourced directly or met in person.
Useful for candidates you've sourced directly or met in person.
If you've found a candidate yourself, at an event, through a referral, or by headhunting, you can add them to Recruit directly rather than waiting for an application.
Adding a candidate
- Select Add Candidate, then choose the Manual option (as opposed to Import (CV), which extracts details from an uploaded CV instead).
- Fill in Personal Info: first and last name and email are required, with phone, LinkedIn URL, location, current company, job title, and postcode all optional.
- Under Documents, optionally upload their CV and cover letter (PDF, Word, or plain text, up to 10MB).
- Under Source Info, choose a Source from your active candidate sources, this is required, add any source details, and tag them if useful.
- If you want to attach them to a job straight away, choose it under Job Assignment, along with the pipeline stage to place them in, this is required once a job is chosen.
- Add any notes, then select Add Candidate.
Importing from a CV instead
If you have a CV file and don't want to type everything in by hand, switch to the Import (CV) option instead, Recruit extracts the candidate's details automatically from the document.
What happens next
If you assigned them to a job, they'll appear directly in that job's pipeline at the stage you chose. If not, they'll sit in your talent pool until you assign them to one. See Managing the talent pool.
