Recruit release notes: 14 to 24 August 2026
New features, improvements and fixes released between Friday 14 August and Monday 24 August 2026.
Highlights
Job alerts. Candidates can now subscribe to job alerts from your careers page and be emailed when a matching vacancy is published. Subscribers confirm their email, choose what they want to hear about, and are asked to reconfirm periodically so your list stays current. Administrators can see and manage the full subscriber list in settings.
Register Your Interest. Your careers page can now carry a Register Your Interest tab for people who want to be considered but cannot see the right role today. You choose which application form template they complete, they can attach a CV, and they land straight in your talent pool.
Nothing is lost on a candidate form any more. Reference forms, referee nominations, save-and-return links and both single and multi-page applications now save answers in the background as the candidate types. A closed tab, a flat battery or an expired link no longer costs them their work.
Conditional logic on application form pages. You can now show or hide a whole page of an application form based on an earlier answer. Set the condition once on the page and the candidate only sees it when it applies. Conditions can also be built into your form templates so they carry across every job that uses them.
Multiple hiring managers per job. The one-hiring-manager-per-job limit is gone. Add as many hiring managers as a role genuinely needs, and every one of them receives the hiring manager notifications rather than just the first.
Candidate withdrawal. You can now withdraw a candidate on their behalf, in bulk if needed, with an optional email to the candidate. The withdrawal shows on the pipeline and is recorded in the audit trail.
Contactable status on referees. You can mark a referee as not contactable, and Recruit warns you before a reference request goes out to them. Referee details can also be corrected in place, which cancels any request already in flight.
CharityJob integration. CharityJob is now available as a job board, so charity sector roles can be posted from Recruit alongside your other boards.
Gap analysis for candidates. Where a candidate's employment history has an unexplained gap, they are now asked to explain it or add the missing entry before they submit. Education history is included in the check.
Job posting and job boards- Job expiry now defaults to 28 days after the posting date. You can still change it on any job.
- Advert expiry warning email: the job owner is emailed 24 hours before an advert expires, so a live role does not quietly disappear.
- Lock default wording on job details. Administrators can set default content on job details fields and stop it being edited while a job is being created.
- Hide the vacancy reference number: a new toggle controls whether the reference number appears on the careers page.
- Jobs now display Salary Type rather than a salary range where that is how the role is advertised.
- The Internal Careers Page can now be posted to on its own, without also having to post to the Company Career Page.
- The Job Boards tab now pages through every posting with a true total, instead of stopping at the first 20 and hiding the rest.
- Fixed an issue where a job's application form could not be saved once it reached 200 elements during setup or editing.
- Fixed the job setup wizard discarding unsaved application form edits when you moved between steps.
- Fixed the application form being editable in the pre-approval draft stage, where it does not belong.
- Fixed job attachment uploads failing with "Upload failed" for anyone who was not an Admin or HR user.
- Fixed job board feed generation failing on large feeds, which had been stopping some boards from receiving updates.
- Fixed the open job count not matching what is actually live on Adzuna and Indeed.
- Location images. Upload an image for each location and switch on per-location imagery for your careers page.
- Save and return now mirrors the careers page. When a candidate comes back to a part-finished application, they see the same page-by-page form they started, rather than one long single page.
- Incomplete applications are captured earlier. As soon as a candidate finishes page one, the application is created and the acknowledgement email is sent, so you can see and act on part-finished applications.
- Pre-built form sections are now editable. Questions in pre-built sections can be deleted and their labels reworded, and the lock behaves consistently across every section.
- Fixed candidates losing their draft answers when the job's application form was edited mid-application. Answers are now preserved.
- Fixed applications completed from a save-and-return link losing work history, address, education and referee details.
- Fixed a reopened application form arriving read only and squashed into one page. Candidates can now edit and page through it as they would the original, with the email address locked.
- Fixed conditional logic not evaluating against answers given inside a repeatable section, such as one employment entry among several.
- Fixed "required when" conditions never being applied on the candidate's form, so questions that should have become mandatory did not.
- Fixed the first free-text answer on a form being treated as the cover letter, which made a Cover Letter section appear on forms that had none.
- Fixed the wrong document attaching to an application when a file was replaced part-way through uploading.
- You can now pull your live vacancies into your own website, including Register Your Interest settings, without exporting anything by hand.
- Bulk actions on the shortlisting tab: select several candidates and move them to another stage or reject them in one go.
- Sort the candidates list by column. Sorting also works in the talent pool.
- Scoring is clearer. The job view now shows each score out of the total available, and criteria can be marked essential or desirable.
- Sub-statuses within a pipeline stage. You can now record a position within a stage, replacing the old ranks such as "Attempt to contact 1, 2, 3".
- Application review follows the form. The review panel now shows the sections that the job's own application form actually uses, instead of a fixed set.
- Duplicate candidate detection now runs on every route. Previously it only fired when someone was added by hand or through CV import. It now catches duplicates arriving from the careers page and every other source.
- Bulk actions on the candidates list are grouped into dropdowns, so the action bar no longer runs off the edge of a narrow screen.
- Fixed Decision Rules not saving, and appearing on stages that do not evaluate them.
- Fixed shortlisting checklist criteria failing to save, which was silently losing reviewers' work.
- Fixed the Applied date column on the candidates list being unlabelled and read as the date of the most recent application.
- Fixed candidate documents so downloads respect the user's role, and bulk download and merge into a single file are supported.
- Fixed CVs uploaded through the careers page not being read or redacted, which meant no anonymised copy existed for confidential shortlisting.
- Fixed Interviewers and Hiring Managers with HR access being able to reveal a confidential candidate's identity.
- Multiple slot-based events per stage. A single pipeline stage can now carry more than one slot-based event, and candidates are no longer invited automatically when they are moved into that stage. You choose when invitations go out.
- Availability events are no longer created automatically when an interview stage is added or changed.
- Preview the candidate invite email from the event creation form before you send it.
- Fixed interview invite emails ignoring the template you selected and the message you had written.
- Fixed the Go to Events button in the interview event dialog not actually taking you to the Events tab.
- Fixed the interview event invite panel: the layout is no longer cramped, the duplicate invite button is gone, and Export CSV works.
- Fixed the stage selection dialog on interview events running off the bottom of the screen, which made some stages impossible to pick.
- Fixed the Interview Feedback settings tab listing video interview templates alongside interview feedback ones.
- Fixed the Video Interview Questions settings tab rendering empty.
- Acknowledgement emails on the Applied stage are now required. You choose an acknowledgement email and an application-complete email for the Applied stage, and both are sent consistently no matter how the application arrived, each carrying the candidate's link to manage their application.
- Attachments on offers. You can attach documents to an offer and they are sent with the candidate's offer email.
- Raw HTML mode for email templates, for teams that maintain their own HTML email designs. Allowed tags are validated on save.
- Daily summary digest. Notifications can now arrive as one daily summary email instead of individually.
- Merge fields now resolve everywhere. A run of fixes covers one-off candidate emails, consent expiry emails, rejection, offer and acknowledgement emails, approval notifications and onboarding emails. Job, company and candidate details now come through as real values rather than blanks or raw text.
- Fixed emails delivering a literal placeholder in place of your organisation's name.
- Fixed offer email template edits appearing not to save, where the editor reloaded the previous version.
- Pasting from Word keeps its formatting. Bullets, numbering, alignment and styling survive a paste into job descriptions, email templates and every other rich text field.
- Fixed candidates receiving two confirmation emails for every application.
- Fixed Send me a copy copying the sender into the candidate's own email instead of sending them a separate copy.
- Fixed bulk one-off emails sitting in the queue and never being delivered.
- Fixed the auto-reject job running twice, which sent some candidates two rejection emails.
- Fixed moving a candidate to the stage they are already in re-sending that stage's emails.
- Fixed the offer email template picker always using the most recently created template rather than the one you chose.
- Fixed the Template Category dropdown missing the reminder and notification categories, showing untranslated labels, and offering an incomplete set of merge fields for application form reminders.
- Fixed formatting being stripped or duplicated when editing text blocks in the template editor.
- Save your default filters. You can set the filters you want the jobs list and pipeline view to open with, from your own profile page.
- Permanently delete a user. Administrators can now fully delete a user account, with a clear warning first that the user's audit log entries go with it.
- Fixed saving one preferences card on your profile wiping the other, which had been losing jobs list defaults when pipeline defaults were saved.
- Fixed Members being unable to reach their personal settings, because the Settings navigation and dropdown were hidden from them.
- Fixed Members being offered Edit application form, which they should never see.
- Fixed notification preferences failing to save with a "Could not save your notification preferences" error on every toggle.
- Fixed notification switches silently reverting for administrators when the organisation manages notifications centrally.
- The legacy compliance pack card has been retired.
For organisations moving across from Vacancy Filler.
- Completed references brought over from Vacancy Filler now appear against migrated candidates, with signatures and dates rendered as they were originally, marked as historic and read only.
- Migrated application forms now show your question labels, instead of raw field keys.
- Migrated jobs can now be edited. The Job Details step is back on the edit wizard for approved and live jobs, and the fields your Basic Information setup marks as required are populated so the job can be saved.
- Fixed a migrated country dropdown that could not be collapsed and blocked the whole form from saving.
- Migrated interview stages that arrived configured as screening or shortlisting have been promoted to interview stages, so interview scheduling fires as it should.
- Migrated referees now carry their contactable answer across.
- Migrated applications no longer arrive with candidate identity revealed, so confidential shortlisting works from day one.
- Migrated hiring managers now arrive as hiring managers rather than recruiters.
- Migration now checks where each job was actually advertised in Vacancy Filler, instead of posting every previously live job to the Company Career Page.
- Re-runs of the migration now re-check advert expiry, so jobs that have closed in Vacancy Filler no longer sit as Published in Recruit.
- Migrated application sub-statuses now map correctly.
