This update covers everything shipped to Hireroad Recruit between Friday 30 May and Thursday 4 June 2026. Highlights include a rich-text editor for job adverts, candidate notifications for video interviews, conditional fields in onboarding forms, a recruiter read-view of submitted onboarding responses, drag-and-drop pipeline stage reordering, and a rich-text editor for email templates. There are also several fixes across job editing, pipeline colours, user management, and SMS messaging.
What's new
Rich-text editor for job advert fields
Job descriptions, requirements, and benefits fields in the job editor now use the full rich-text editor. You can apply bold, italic, underline, bullet and numbered lists, and text alignment -- all of which carry through to the public job advert and job board submissions.
- Underline and text alignment are now delivered to external job boards as well as the careers page.
- Previously plain-text fields will retain their existing content when opened for the first time.
Candidate notifications for video interviews
When a candidate is invited to complete a HireFlix video interview, and again when they submit their response, they now receive a notification automatically.
- A new Candidate Notifications card in the video interview stage editor lets you configure which notifications are sent and customise the message content.
- Notifications are sent via the candidate's preferred contact channel (email or SMS where enabled).
Conditional fields in onboarding forms
Onboarding form fields can now be made to show, hide, or become required based on how a candidate answers other questions.
- The Show when and Required when condition builders are available in the onboarding form field editor in Settings.
- When candidates complete an onboarding task, conditional fields respond in real time as answers are entered.
- On submission, the server validates all show/hide and required conditions, so hidden field values are excluded from the saved response automatically.
Recruiter read-view of onboarding form responses
Recruiters can now view a candidate's submitted onboarding form responses directly from the candidate's onboarding task panel.
- A dedicated Form responses section displays each question and the candidate's answer, using the label as it appeared in the form at the time of submission.
- Responses are read-only and visible to anyone with access to the candidate's onboarding tasks.
Drag-and-drop pipeline stage reordering
Pipeline stages can now be reordered by dragging them into position in the pipeline settings editor. The new order is saved when you click Save.
Rich-text editor for email templates
Email templates now use the same rich-text editor as offer and contract templates, replacing the plain HTML textarea.
Pipeline stage colours in reports
Reports that show pipeline stages now use the custom stage colours you have configured, providing consistent colour-coding between the pipeline view and reporting charts.
SMS opt-out instruction on all messages
All outbound SMS messages now include an opt-out instruction, making the STOP reply option visible to candidates in every message.
Improvements
Job team members can edit adverts
Recruiters and hiring managers added to a job's team can now edit and save changes to published job adverts. Previously, saves would fail silently for job-team members without global advert permissions.
Company location and salary period persisted on job save
Company location and salary period are now saved reliably across all job save paths, including when creating a job from a template. These fields were previously lost in certain save flows.
Country field round-trips correctly on job edit
When editing an existing job, the country field now loads with the saved value and saves correctly when changed.
Bug fixes
- Doubled plus sign on Add controls -- The "+" icon appeared twice on several add/section controls in the application form builder. This is now corrected.
- Onboarding form resubmissions accumulating duplicate responses -- Resubmitting an onboarding form could create duplicate answer rows. The form now replaces existing responses on resubmission.
- Application form field label validation aligned to 2,000 characters -- Field labels can now be up to 2,000 characters, matching the validation enforced elsewhere in the form builder.
- Auto-team assignment falls back to admin when no HR users match -- When a job's hiring team is auto-assigned and no matching HR users are found, the system now falls back to an admin account rather than leaving the team empty.
