This update covers everything shipped to Hireroad Recruit between Friday 9 May and Friday 15 May 2026. It includes the completion of video interviewing capability, the ability to reopen application forms for candidates, job pause controls, and a range of improvements across pipeline management, job boards, and settings.

What's new

Reopen application form

Recruiters can now invite candidates to reopen and update their application form after it has been submitted.

• The Reopen form action is available in bulk from the candidates list and pipeline views.
• When triggered, a dialog appears where you can customise the email subject and body before sending. Merge fields are available for the candidate's name, job title, and company name.
• Candidates receive an email with a unique link valid for seven days. The link takes them to a public form where their original responses are pre-filled for easy updating.
• File uploads from the original submission are preserved; all other field types support re-answering.
• A toast notification confirms how many candidates were successfully sent the reopen request.

Video interviewing

Work to introduce video interviewing capability to the platform is now complete.

Job pause and unpause

Published jobs can now be paused without closing them, giving you control over applicant flow while keeping the role open internally.

• Use the Pause action on a published job to open the pause dialog.
• Choose between two behaviours: block new applicants (the job is hidden from the careers page and direct links show a paused message) or allow new applicants (the job remains visible on the careers page).
• In both modes, the job is unpublished from all connected external job boards when paused.
• Paused jobs show a Paused status badge in the jobs list. Use the Unpause action to reactivate the job.
• Note: you will need to re-advertise on external job boards manually after unpausing.

Optional interview feedback form

Interview stage feedback forms are now optional across all parts of the platform.

• Interviewers and hiring managers can submit an interview record without completing the feedback form.
• If a feedback form is not submitted, the interview record is still saved and visible in the timeline.
• This change applies to both individual and panel interview submissions.

carehome.co.uk job board integration

carehome.co.uk is now available as a job board integration for care sector roles.

• Enable the integration under Settings, then Integrations.
• Once configured, jobs can be published to carehome.co.uk via the standard publishing flow.

AOC Jobs integration

AOC Jobs is now available as an additional job board integration, using an XML feed.

• Enable the integration under Settings, then Integrations.
• Once active, jobs are included in the AOC Jobs XML feed automatically when published.

Unlimited approval workflow levels

The previous limit of four levels in an approval workflow has been removed.

• Approval workflows can now include as many levels as your organisation requires.
• Existing workflows are unaffected.

Required basic information fields

The basic information form now enforces required fields for job board publishing.

• Fields that are required by connected job boards (such as job type and category) must be completed before a job can be published.
• An inline message explains which fields need to be filled in if any are missing.
• This check is applied at publish time, not during job drafting.

Default value for SELECT basic information fields

Administrators can now set a default value for SELECT fields in the basic information form configuration.

• Open the basic information form editor under Settings, then Basic information form.
• Select a SELECT field and choose a default option. This value is pre-selected when creating a new job.
• The default can be overridden per job as normal.

Improvements and fixes

Integrations auto-enabled on first save

Configuring an integration for the first time and saving now automatically enables it.

• Previously, you had to save the configuration and then separately toggle the integration on.
• The integration is now active immediately after the first save.

Closing date saved from publish dialog

Setting a closing date in the publish dialog now saves it back to the job record.

• Previously, the date was used for the publish action but not persisted against the job.
• The closing date field on the job now reflects what was entered in the publish dialog.

Free badge in publish wizard

Job boards that are free to post on now show a Free badge in the publishing step of the job creation wizard, consistent with the publish dialog.

Unconfigured boards hidden from publish surfaces

Job boards that have not been configured or are disabled are no longer shown in the publish dialog or the job creation wizard publishing step.

• Only boards that are active and configured for your account are displayed.

Today highlighted in interview calendar

The current day's column is now highlighted in the interview scheduling calendar header, making it easier to orient yourself when managing availability.

Pipeline search empty state

When a search in the pipeline view returns no results, an empty state message is now shown rather than a blank list.

Referral email validation

The referral submission form now validates the email address before allowing submission.

• If an invalid email is entered, an inline error is shown before the form is sent.

Reference request rich text

The message body for reference requests is now displayed and editable in the rich text editor, supporting formatting such as bold, lists, and links.

Session expiry redirect

When a session expires, you are now redirected to the login page with a toast notification and returned to the page you were on after signing back in.

• Previously, session expiry could result in silent failures or an unhelpful redirect.

Invite user modal error

Inline error messages are now shown directly within the Invite user modal when a submission fails, rather than requiring the modal to be dismissed to see feedback.

Conditional required fields in job wizard

Hidden conditional fields in the job creation wizard are no longer validated as required when they are not visible.

• This fixes cases where submission was blocked by a field that was not shown on screen.

All configured boards visible in setup wizard

The publishing step of the job creation wizard now shows all job boards that have been configured for your account, consistent with the standalone publish dialog.

Basic information field type normalisation

A data issue where basic information field types were stored in uppercase has been corrected.

• This was caused by an earlier migration and could result in fields not rendering correctly. The fix applies a normalisation migration automatically.

Integration description cleanup

Internal ticket references have been removed from integration configuration descriptions in the Settings UI.
