This update covers everything shipped to Hireroad Recruit between Saturday 16 May and Friday 22 May 2026. Highlights include custom fields on offers, auto-start onboarding when an offer is accepted, the onboarding hub for candidates, scheduled job postings, and scheduled rejection emails. Several careers page improvements and a range of bug fixes are also included.
What's new
Custom fields on offers
Administrators can now define custom fields that appear in the Send offer dialog and on every offer record.
- A new Offer fields settings page lets admins create, edit, and reorder custom fields. Supported types include text, number, date, and dropdown.
- The Send offer dialog now shows a Custom fields section. Values entered here are persisted with the offer and rendered in the offer history.
- Dropdown fields support a None option for clearing a previously selected value.
- Standard accessibility labels and admin-only delete controls are in place.
Hours per week on offers
The Send offer dialog now includes a Hours per week field, captured alongside the other contract details and visible on the offer history.
Auto-start onboarding from offer acceptance
Offers can now be configured to automatically start onboarding for the candidate when they accept.
- A new toggle in the Send offer dialog enables Auto-start onboarding and lets you pick an onboarding template at the same time.
- The chosen template is snapshotted onto the offer at send time, so later changes to the template do not affect the in-flight offer.
- When the candidate accepts the offer through the public link, onboarding is started automatically and recorded as a system activity in the timeline.
- Auto-start is only available when the candidate is at an eligible stage.
Onboarding hub
A new onboarding hub gives candidates a single place to see what is expected of them after they have been hired.
- The hub shows an overview of the candidate's onboarding journey and a list of pending tasks.
- Tasks are grouped by phase and update in real time as they are completed.
Scheduled job postings
Job postings can now be scheduled to publish and expire at specific times rather than only on a date.
- The posting and expiry fields on a job now accept a time component.
- Scheduled postings are activated precisely at the chosen time, rather than the next time a background job runs.
- The action menu is disabled for postings that are not yet actionable.
Scheduled rejection emails
Rejection emails can now be configured per job, with an option to send immediately or after a delay.
- The job settings page now includes a Rejection email section where you can pick the template to use and choose between immediate sending or a scheduled delay.
- When a candidate is rejected (individually or in bulk), the reject dialog explains exactly what will happen, including whether an email will be sent and when.
- Delayed rejection emails are dispatched on schedule and are safe against retries.
- The existing auto-reject cron now uses the same rejection email service for consistency.
Single-page application form on careers
When a job has a single-page application form, the form is now rendered inline beneath the job details on the public careers page, reducing the number of clicks required to apply.
Closing date and expired job handling on careers
Closing dates are now surfaced on the public careers site, and expired jobs are handled consistently.
- The closing date is shown on the careers listing card and on the job detail page.
- Expired jobs are hidden from the public listing.
- Direct links to expired multi-page application forms now redirect to the job detail page with a closed-card message rather than showing the form.
Vacancy reference on careers
The public job detail page now displays the vacancy reference, helping candidates quote it when they get in touch.
Privacy policy link toggle for careers
A new careers footer setting lets you hide the privacy policy link if your organisation handles privacy policy disclosure elsewhere.
Video interview pipeline stage
Pipelines now support a dedicated Video interview stage type, distinct from in-person interviews. This unlocks future automation around video interviewing and makes pipeline reporting clearer.
Document type selection on job templates
The job template editor now includes a Document type dropdown for file fields, letting administrators bind an uploaded document to a specific role (for example CV or cover letter). Duplicate role bindings are blocked with a clear error message.
Justification settings UI rebuild
The justification field settings UI has been rebuilt against the canonical form-field contract.
- Field types are exposed using the canonical list, keeping naming consistent with the rest of the platform.
- A new Required when option lets you make a justification field conditional on the value of another field, mirroring the existing Show when behaviour.
Contract template type on offer templates
Offer templates now support a Contract template type, in addition to the existing offer template types.
HireFlix integration as a platform-owned integration
HireFlix is now configured as a platform-owned integration. Tenants no longer need to manage HireFlix credentials directly — the integration is managed centrally and enabled per tenant.
Candidate scheme indicators in hiring manager shortlisting
When a hiring manager is reviewing shortlisted candidates, scheme indicators (such as Disability Confident or Guaranteed Interview) are now shown alongside each candidate to help inform the review.
Interview feedback scoring aligned with shortlisting
Interview feedback now uses the same scoring scale as shortlisting, making it easier to compare scores across the hiring journey.
SMS integration settings and audit log
For tenants where SMS is enabled, a new SMS section appears under Settings, then Integrations, where the SMS provider can be configured.
- An SMS tab is also added to the audit log, showing the delivery status of each message sent.
Security settings permission
A new Manage security settings permission gates access to the security settings page, allowing administrators to delegate security configuration without granting full admin rights.
Improvements
Drag-and-drop reorder in the application form wizard
The application form step of the job creation wizard now supports drag-and-drop reordering of fields, matching the behaviour of the standalone form editor.
Careers iframe auto-resizes
When the careers page is embedded as an iframe on a customer site, the iframe now automatically resizes to fit its content, removing the need for an internal scrollbar.
Dropdown option values generated from labels
When adding a new option to a dropdown field, the option value is now auto-generated from the label rather than requiring a manual entry.
Free badge on Settings, then Integrations
The Free badge now appears on the Integrations settings page for job boards that are free to post on, matching the publish dialog.
Duplicate header row removed on settings pages
A duplicate header row that appeared on some settings pages has been removed.
Event bookings in calendar and Next event
Event bookings are now shown in the team availability calendar and in the Next event widget on the candidate profile.
Duplicate role binding errors surfaced
When a job template tries to bind two file fields to the same document role, a clear error message is now shown to the user rather than a generic save failure.
Error toasts on application form template mutations
Saving an application form template now shows a toast notification on failure, so users do not silently lose changes.
Bug fixes
- Publishing a job no longer crashes with Invalid time value. A date parsing issue on the publish dialog has been resolved.
- Hiring leads can complete job setup. Hiring leads were previously blocked from completing setup on a job they were leading; this is now fixed.
- Jobs publish on setup completion when approvals are disabled. When approvals are turned off, finishing setup now publishes the job as expected.
- Feedback form carries through to job stages. The selected interview feedback form is now applied to all relevant pipeline stages when a job is created.
- Duplicate default pipeline templates prevented. Saving multiple default pipeline templates concurrently no longer creates duplicates.
- Application form template fields keep their canonical field key. Non-file fields no longer lose their canonical key when saved through the template editor.
- Expired multi-page application links handled. Visiting an expired multi-page application URL now redirects to the job detail page with the closed-card message, instead of rendering an empty form.
- Duplicate email on user invite auto-resolved. Inviting a user with an email already in use across tenants no longer fails with an opaque error.
- Impersonation cookie renewed on token refresh. Long admin impersonation sessions no longer silently expire mid-session.
- Saved job location and custom fields included in delivery payload. Jobs published to external boards now include the full saved data, not a partial snapshot.
- Slot picker uses local time. The interview slot picker and booking panels now interpret dates in the user's local time, fixing edge cases around midnight.
- HireFlix webhook signatures validated correctly. Webhooks from HireFlix are now validated against base64-encoded signatures, matching the provider's actual payload.
- Closing date no longer blocks publish-readiness. A missing closing date no longer prevents a job from being marked ready to publish when it is otherwise complete.
- Access denied copy on /settings/security corrected. The previous wording referred to the wrong permission.
- Advance-to-setup 403 message clarified. The error returned when a non-eligible user tries to advance a job to setup no longer mentions approvals.
