Setting up a job
From job details and approval through to application form, team, and pipeline.
From job details and approval through to application form, team, and pipeline.
Getting a job live in Recruit happens in two distinct stages: creating and approving it, then setting it up so it's ready to actually receive applications.
Stage one: creation and approval
This is the job creation wizard, and it walks through:
- Start: choose to start from scratch or from a template.
- Job Details: title, department, location, salary, description, and the rest of the job's core information.
- Approvals: submit the job into your organisation's approval workflow. This step is skipped entirely if your organisation doesn't require approvals.
Once every required approval is given (or immediately, if approvals aren't required), the job moves to Pending Setup.
Stage two: setup
The setup wizard only becomes available once a job reaches Pending Setup. It covers:
- Application Form: choose which template candidates will fill in.
- Team: add the recruiters, hiring managers, and interviewers who'll work on this job.
- Pipeline: set up the stages candidates will move through.
- Publishing: choose where and when the job goes live.
Select Complete Setup once you've added at least one team member and at least two pipeline stages. Recruit won't let you finish setup without both, since a job can't function without a team or a pipeline. Completing setup moves the job to Published (or Scheduled, if you've set a future posting date).
See The approval workflow, Managing your job team, and Publishing to job boards for more detail on each part of this process.
