Shortlisting candidates
Scoring candidates fairly and consistently at a pipeline stage.
Scoring candidates fairly and consistently at a pipeline stage.
Shortlisting lets you and your colleagues score candidates against a consistent set of criteria at a given pipeline stage, rather than relying on informal impressions alone.
How scoring works
A pipeline stage can have one or more shortlisting checklists attached to it. Each reviewer scores a candidate against the checklist, and their scores contribute to that candidate's overall evaluation for the stage.
Blind scoring
When blind scoring is switched on for a stage, you won't see other reviewers' scores until you've submitted your own. This keeps everyone's assessment independent rather than being influenced by what colleagues have already scored.
Blind scoring can also be scoped more tightly, limiting some reviewers to only see candidates they've specifically been assigned to, rather than everyone going through that stage. Recruiters can always see every evaluation regardless of scoping, but still can't see a specific reviewer's individual score until that reviewer submits, if blind scoring is on.
Pass thresholds and minimum reviewers
A stage can be configured with a pass threshold, so candidates below a certain score are flagged, and a minimum number of reviewers required before a candidate's evaluation is considered complete.
Setting your organisation's defaults
Under Settings > Shortlisting Defaults, you can turn on blind scoring and confidential shortlisting by default for new stages, and set a default stage at which personal details are revealed to reviewers. Turning these on will ask whether you also want to apply them to jobs that already exist, rather than only new ones going forward.
See Shortlisting checklists for how the checklists themselves are built.
