Starting onboarding for a hired candidate

Kicking off a new hire's onboarding checklist.

Kicking off a new hire's onboarding checklist.

Once a candidate has reached the offer or hired stage, you can start their onboarding from their candidate profile, on the Onboarding tab.

Starting onboarding

  1. Open the candidate's profile and go to the Onboarding tab.
  2. Choose an Onboarding template from the dropdown. If none are listed, your organisation hasn't created any yet, see Setting up onboarding templates.
  3. Optionally, enter a Reporting Manager for this candidate.
  4. Select Start Onboarding.

If the candidate hasn't reached the offer or hired stage yet, this tab tells you so rather than letting you start onboarding early.

Which template gets used

If you pick a template explicitly, that's what the candidate's onboarding is built from. If you don't, and the job already has a template assigned to it, that one is used instead. Either way, a fresh, independent copy is created for this candidate the moment onboarding starts, so it's protected from any later changes to the source template. See Setting up onboarding templates for why this matters.
