Elapsed Time in Courses and Modules

What does elapsed time on courses and modules mean? What is this time calculating for end users?

The elapsed time only has to do with the amount of time a user is in the content. It is not have anything to do with time anywhere else in the portal. It does not matter about the time out of the course. How ever the user spent their time in this particular piece of content that is what the elapsed time is tracking here in total time. It could be re watching, repeating, pausing, etc.
