FAQ: Can I Run a Report to Find Out Why a Task Type Module is Expired for a User?

Question: When a course with a task type module expires, due to the task either not being completed or being marked as completed, is there a way to determine the reason behind the expiration?

Question: When a course with a task type module expires, due to the task either not being completed or being marked as completed, is there a way to determine the reason behind the expiration?

For example, can you find out if a user submitted the task and the proctor didn't mark it as completed, or if the learner never submitted the task in the first place?

Answer: When you run a "User Course Transcript" report on a course that contains a task type module, include the field "Committed Content Type" in the report export. If this field is populated as "task" then that means the user had uploaded a file for the task type module.

If this field in reporting is blank, than that means the user never uploaded anything for the task type module. Based on that information, you can determine which users actually uploaded files to their task type module.

If the user was marked "incomplete" for their task type module submission, you should see an "incomplete" in the module status field in the report.

Unfortunately you cannot download or view users' task type submissions after their enrollments expire.
